It is known as one of the most worshipful among the oldest Kalipuja of North 24 Parganas district. The temple also has some historical significance.
This Kalipuja was started around four hundred and fifty years ago. Here all devotees are visiting from various places, on the day of kalipuja. Besides,
there are numerous miracles surrounding the temple. Peoples believe that if anyone is in danger and he came to the goddess then definitely he will be saved.
This puja was started by Pratapaditya Roy, son of King Bikramaditya of Jessore, was introduced in the year 1585, i.e. 429 years ago. Yuvraj organized a
competition to choose heroic fighters in Pratapaditya's kingdom. His father Bikramaditya was suspected that his son is becoming an anti-Mughal protester.
In rage one of the defeated archers killed one of the winning archers. Yuvraj Pratapaditya then hanged the murderer's head in a rage. The father of the
archers protested against the killing of his son and asked for justice to Bikramaditya. Bikramaditya ordered his son to be sent to exile.
By intellect, Bikramaditya sent his son to Agra in the Mughal court and exile. Crossing the Ichhamati river with fastest bajra,
Pratapaditya reached Agra by the Ganges river with a few collaborators. He started the voyage towards Jessore after completed his
exile for several years in the Mughal court. At that time, he saw a supernatural dream where Shri Shree Siddheswari maa said that
she is belonging in the deep forest besides the Ichhamati river.
The Ba'or that is on the west side of the temple is the Ichhamati river in the past. Pratapaditya ordered to have anchored his bajra as that
area to be seen in the dream. After a lot of considerably search, he found the unprotected goddess statue. From the information of temple
management committee, it is known that Pratapaditya had ordered the worship of the goddess by calling some people from the Gangetic area
near the forest. At that time an idol of goddess worship is going on in a fronds cottage. It is heard that during the battle with the Britishers,
Bhabani Pathak and Devi Chowdhurani are come to take blessed from the goddess.
The temple is now build up on the one acre and twenty-seven century of land. In the past, which way of worship used to , it cannot be said correctly.
Bibhutibabu said that from 1384 BD the worship of this temple as the same way of Dakshineswar’s Maa Vabattarini has been worshiping in the temple.
The old broken temple has been renovating since 2009, in the shape of the temple as like the Dakshineswar’s Maa Vabhratini temple.
It is being built by donating money from many devotees. The temple committee will take more two years to complete, according to the temple committee.
